Spring is just around the corner! Here's a quick little post on one of my favorite makeup trends for Spring 2014. Orange lips are such a simple update to anybody's makeup bag. There are a ton of orange lip options from high end to drugstore, including sheer lip balms and matte, opaque lipsticks. I am wearing a satin formula in the above picture, my new
Nars Satin Lip Pencil in
Timanfaya, which is a bold reddish-orange. Choosing a more red based orange will likely be easier to pull off than a pastel option, but it comes down to personal preference.
My suggestion for wearing an orange lip is keeping it all very simple. Maybe just a coat of mascara on the lashes and a touch of peachy blush on the cheeks for a vibrant and fresh daytime look (see above). To jazz it up for a night out, I think this would look amazing with a bold cat eye flick liner.

This colour looks really amazing with your skin tone and hair, Stacy! I swatches it a few times in store but orange scares me, strangely - even with my darker skin tone I find it just seems garish on me somehow :(

Thank you so much for commenting! P.S. I don't have a NARS counter/Sephora in my area so I rarely get to swatch, I normally order from Sephora online and hope for the best. Were there any other satin lip pencils that looked especially nice? I also own the hot pink shade, "Yu".
